I came across a quilting book second hand that is beautiful! I just love books of all kinds, and when I run across one that has been enjoyed and cherished by someone else that makes it even more special. It is a copy of Better Homes and Gardens American Patchwork and Quilting, copyright 1983. It was inscribed to someone by hand dated 1993, so I might be the third owner. Inside I found an illustration of how I want my hexagon quilt to look. I hope it's ok to put the picture here since I've cited the source.
English paper piecing is not mentioned, but how to place the blocks is, so I was really glad to find that. Have a great week, and go view more beautiful hexie flowers on Karen's blog..

I say any and all work on a flower is good! at some point you will need to get all those stepping stones done! now is as good a time as any :) great job!!
Stitching... in Church... ? Ha ha. I love the look of the layout from the book, and the colours you're using will be perfect for it. Great to get some ideas going on about how to piece it all together...
Great job of sewing on your stepping stones...
Lucky to have found the book.
Beautiful flower and love the fabric for your stepping stones
I agree that those old magazines and books still have great ideas.......and depending on the project I'm working on, I find new ideas in the same magazine......I think you are on your way to having a flower garden like the picture!
Your quilt is going to be gorgeous. And, you're moving along so quickly. Can't wait to see it finished.
Please share with everyone you know who quilts. I am trying to get quilters to wrap Aurora first responders and survivors in love:
