I attended another paper piecing class!

Those are so much fun. If you've never done it, or if you've tried it on your own and decided it is too difficult, go to http://www.quiltbug.com/ and read the Seven Deadly Sins of Paper Piecing. It helped me tremendously.

Saturday's class was learning how to make a Christmas tree wall hanging. Here is my progress so far. Pretty cool, don't you think? The green part has 11 different pieces, I repeated some of the darks for a shadowy effect. The tree skirt part has 8 different red prints.
The top part will have a pieced gold star, then I will add borders and quilt it.

I am still sewing

Believe it or not. Every time I try to sew on Emma's quilt, she pitches a fit, so I had to figure out a way to sew while she's awake. I took all the pins off it, all the pinned labels, threw them in a box. It's a good thing I made a list of who sent what. I put the quilt on the floor, and let her sit on part of it and she's happy. I can actually sew while she's sitting there. She's just like a cat, of course the block she wants to sit on is the one I'm working on, but she's ok if I move her just a little bit. I'm down to two rows now, I may just finish by the end of this month.
